What is Six Sigma?

Six Sigma is an initiative embraced by TCIM Services, Inc that enables measurement, analysis, improvement, and control of processes. This methodology transcends traditional quality programs to encompass cost saving through reduction of defects.

Why is the Six Sigma philosophy important to our clients?

Six Sigma methodologies are used to scientifically measure and analyze our capacity and processes, with a focus on the reducing the cost of quality. We constantly monitor our improvements, so that we anticipate any potential increases in cycle time, process time, errors, defects, or other cost related occurrences. By redesigning and controlling our processes to avoid defects in production, we reduce our operating costs. Therefore, we are able to deliver a high quality product to our customers at a lower cost.

How does TCIM Services, Inc utilize Six Sigma methods?

TCIM's Black Belt Leaders execute projects that the Senior Management Team has identified. Ownership of project completion is assigned to the appropriate Senior Vice President. Our Black Belt Leaders manage multiple projects simultaneously. These projects are ongoing, as the Six Sigma process involves constant improvement and control. TCIM Services, Inc utilizes a team approach to problem solving, enlisting input and expertise of associates from many areas of the organization.

Where does Six Sigma fit within the Organizational Structure of TCIM Services, Inc?

Our Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration directs and manages the activity of the Black Belt Leaders. The Six Sigma group operates in an objective mode, analogous to that of internal auditors.

How is Six Sigma different from ISO?

ISO, a valuable component of our Quality System, focuses on uniformity and compliance with documented procedures. Six Sigma seeks to identify the root of defects, errors, and rework through analysis of current processes. Six Sigma measures the efficiency of current processes, and calculates the potential to be gained by redesigning processes.
